Dr Bohumil Poláček

 

He graduated from the Faculty of Law at the Charles University in Prague (where he also passed the rigorous examination and graduated from doctoral studies in the department of Commercial law), the specialisation of management and economics at the Technical University (then VŠST) in Liberec, postgraduate specialised studies in enterprise appraising at the University of Economics (VŠE) in Prague, a one-year managerial course in Komerční banka, the MBA managerial study programme in LIGS University (Honolulu) and the LLM postgraduate programme in LIGS University. After one-year initial work experience in the company Vlnap, a.s. in Nejdek he worked in several financial institutions in different positions - Komerční banka, a.s., (Head of the branch office in Nejdek), Česká spořitelna, a.s., (Head of the district branch in Cheb, Business Deputy Manager at the regional branch in Carlsbad), Konsolidační banka Praha, s.p.ú., (Executive Director, responsible for the area of risk management, central methodology, organisation and appraising; he was the main negotiator upon assigning non-performing assets in the amount of CZK 60 bn. from  Komerční banka) and eBanka, a.s., (Regional Manager in Brno). Since 2005, he has been working in the area of economic consulting. He participated in the takeover of the Czech Republic’s property in the port of Hamburg from the bankruptcy trustee of the Československá plavba labská, a.s., and managed the property for the Czech Republic. He is also a lector. He is the Executive Head of the appraising institute Appraising Alpha – znalecký ústav, s.r.o., and the Executive Head of the consulting company Consulting Alpha, s.r.o. He has been working as an expert witness specialised in the enterprise appraising since 2003. He has been working as an expert witness specialised in the financial assets, the intangible assets and the movable assets appraising since 2010. As an author or co-author, he also published a number of specialised professional articles on appraising and on International Law of Economy. As a co-author, he published the monograph "APPRAISAL REPORT AND THE ENTERPRISE" (C. H. Beck, 2006).
